"Okay GOD, this right here is exactly why I’m so passionate about launching SHE Hustles with Grace.
I got a message from a friend today, and it hit me deep. She said:
"I apologize for my absence and lack of responses. I’m going through a very hard time, so right now I cannot be the present friend you need me to be and I’m sorry for that. It’s not personal, thank you for continuously including me in your life and plans. The timing is not great for me, so when I return to my whole self, I will be able to show up the way you need me too. I love you, congratulations on your engagement, I wish you two a blissful happy marital life. We’ll be reunited soon, just keep me in your prayers."
And GOD, my heart broke. Not because I was upset with her, but because I know how it feels to be in that space—to be so overwhelmed that even the people who love you feel like a weight you can’t carry. And it made me realize something…
THIS. This is exactly why SHE Hustles with Grace needs to exist.
Life gets heavy, and sometimes, we don’t even have the strength to show up, not for ourselves, not for the people we love, and sometimes, not even for You. But I know I’m not alone in this. We’re all carrying something—**heartbreak, financial struggles, mental battles, self-doubt—**but GOD, You didn’t create us to carry it alone.
That’s why I responded to her the way I did:
"Hey love, first of all, no need to apologize. Life be life-ing, and I understand that sometimes you just need space to process and heal. Please don’t feel like you owe me anything—I just want you to know that I’m here for you however you need, whether that’s checking in, giving you space, or covering you in prayer."
GOD, I know I can’t fix everything for the people I love, but I can be the friend who doesn’t let them suffer in silence. I can be the one who reminds them that even when life feels like it’s crumbling, grace is still holding them together.
And THAT’S what SHE Hustles with Grace is about.
It’s not just brunches and networking—it’s about sisterhood. It’s about making sure women know they are SEEN, that they are LOVED, and that they don’t have to be at their "best" to be worthy of support.
Because let’s be real, GOD—sometimes we don’t even have the words to pray. Sometimes we just need someone to stand in the gap for us. Someone to check in without expecting us to have it all together. Someone to remind us that even when life feels like it’s falling apart, You are still working, still moving, still making a way.
So GOD, I ask that You bless this vision, that You send the right women, the right resources, and the right moments to bring it to life. Let this be more than just a group—let it be a movement, a ministry, a safe haven.
And for the woman who is reading this and feeling like she has to suffer in silence—GOD, let her know she doesn’t. Let her know that she is seen, that she is loved, and that this sisterhood is for her.
Amen.
